Yet another survival game in a semi unfinished state just hit the Steam Early Access. The game is called Savage Lands and is essentially a combination of various survival sandbox games all in one. And all in all it's actually not that bad so far! The game is very atmospheric and super creepy, it features all sorts of abandoned empty villages patrolled by the undead viking skeletons that seems to have been its original settlers. It has dragons and wolves and it has a variety of recipes that can be used to construct stuff. All in all, Savage Lands shows some promise, unless of course this is yet another one of those grab money Early Access games that will never be finished. Check out the gameplay review below:

Cosmonautica is a cheesy title for a cheesy looking cartoonish game, except that it's neither one of those! The gameplay is absolutely awesome and combines a combination of space exploration, ship building, crew management, no, really detailed crew management, various space battles of awesome proportions and an excellent sound track, storyline and financial value. Considering the scope of Cosmonautica, you're unlikely to find anything better than this title if you want a really good hybrid of various games all in one. Definitely a must play! PS did I mention it's still unfortunately in Early Access? Let's hope it doesn't get canceled! There were over 300 titles that came out for PC in January 2015. That's THREE HUNDRED! It's difficult to go through each and every one to see if you'll like it or not, so I'm going to save you some time by introducing the top 9 games on January. These are both indie and triple A titles and they're definitely worth your time. Check it ooooout here: What is this Hand of Fate thing and why should you care about it? Well, it very neatly combines an excellent deck building game with cards and turns and dice n stuff, while at the same time giving you a whole new RPG element to deal with aaaaand...yes you had no idea that was coming - a frigging over-the-shoulder battle system where your viking dude person has to defeat monsters of evil and such. In other words, this game is very original and you should go and buy it or also watch the gameplay video below. If you were to pick just one game, which should you pick? Well this video takes a look at both games and gives you an idea on what's what and why and where. Both games are absolutely excellent and both deliver a great medieval destruction sandbox style, however one is very cheap, casual and light hearted while the other is hardcore, unforgiving and sandboxy. In other words, get both. Caribbean has recently hit the Steam store and I really wanted to play it having been a big fan of Mount and Blade series for years. As you see from the gameplay below, the game has achieved quite a transformation since the old M&W days however the engine is really showing its limit and as of now the game is in a poor state. Glitches and crashes are quite common. The game starts lagging and the frame rate goes down the drain after only a few minutes of sea battles and unfortunately with big sea battles this becomes unbearable. The graphics also show age and compared to the recently releases Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, this really is no match in terms of gameplay/graphics or even fun. Unfortunately in its current state Caribbean is not worth the money. |
