Tales from the Borderlands takes the world from Borderlands 1 and 2 video games and turns it into a Telltale Games adventure similar to The Walking Dead series that they are famous for. With one exception of course. I think this version of the game is actually better than the original. I never was a big fan of the Borderlands but this game makes me want to go and play it again as I'm discovering things about it I never even knew.
All in all, this is an excellent adventure with an amazing sense of humour, great visuals and sound and a choice-based storyline that determines your progress and ending. This episode took me about 90 minutes to finish, but with a replay it's a good 4 hours, if you want to see all the possible choices (and you should as some of them are too funny).

<![CDATA[World of Diving - for armchair SCUBA divers like me]]>Fri, 20 Mar 2015 04:27:34 GMThttp://antrexon.weebly.com/antrexon-gaming/world-of-diving-for-armchair-scuba-divers-like-meThis is such an awesome concept! It's an Occulus Rift friendly diving game that essentially combines the ideas from "walking simulators" like Dear Esther. It also adds the underwater environment, lots of creatures to discovers, a variety of photography or exploration based quests and a plethora of user made activities. It's also multiplayer and is essentially an MMO game.
There is however one quirk in all of this - this Early Access title is being developed really slowly and has already had a few major network malfunctions which would keep the server down for days at a time.
So at the moment, this has a lot of excellent concepts behind it, but the execution is not yet there. Wait for this to get more solid before purchasing.
<![CDATA[Brawlhalla - Super Smash Bros on PC!]]>Fri, 20 Mar 2015 04:22:21 GMThttp://antrexon.weebly.com/antrexon-gaming/brawlhalla-super-smash-bros-on-pcIn a nutshell, this indie game is a really well polished version of a Smash Bros like fighting game on PC. It plays really well with both keyboard and a gamepad, has awesome characters to select from, lots of environmental damage and weapons and is super fun to play with friends.
This is of course not a new genre and doesn't add anything to the brawl formula, but is nonetheless worth a purchase, simply because this is probably one of the best such games on PC platform.

<![CDATA[Creativerse - also known as Minecraft copy #5234]]>Fri, 20 Mar 2015 04:18:11 GMThttp://antrexon.weebly.com/antrexon-gaming/creativerse-also-known-as-minecraft-copy-5234This game is actually pretty unique in its look. I really enjoyed the variety of random creatures and the cell-shaded like look of the surroundings. It plays like a smoother version of Minecraft and has a pretty unique atmosphere. One exception though. This game is a bit overdue in this concepts and this idea has been done so many other times by other games. There are also tons of mods for Minecraft that would change the look to the same cell-shaded effect and add exotic creatures, so I don't personally see a reason to invest into Creativerse just yet. If you do want to try another Minecraft like game though, give this a go!

<![CDATA[Be a lynx and feed your babies in Shelter 2...why though?]]>Fri, 20 Mar 2015 04:12:51 GMThttp://antrexon.weebly.com/antrexon-gaming/be-a-lynx-and-feed-your-babies-in-shelter-2why-thoughNo really? Why? Those silly kittens are just pixelated little annoyances that don't seem to contribute to me enjoying the game at all. I was not at all attached to them as I was told I would be (by game reviews from official sources) neither was I entertained by the idea of feeding them day after day, after day. It was simply...mind numblingly boring. I was basically a running cat simulator with an option of chasing rabbits.
Graphically, the game looks unique and interesting and the sound adds to the atmosphere, but it is just not fun to play and visually gets quite repetitive too as there's very little else to do. Check out the short gameplay below (which pretty much is what the rest of the game is like)
<![CDATA[Dreamfall Chapters BOOK 2 is out]]>Fri, 20 Mar 2015 01:46:47 GMThttp://antrexon.weebly.com/antrexon-gaming/dreamfall-chapters-book-2-is-outThe Longest Journey is one of the best adventure games in existence and we all had really high hopes for Dreamfall Chapters. This was supposed to be a new generation of adventure games that took advantage of powerful new hardware to make them immersive and interactive. But what the crap happened? Why is this game SO BAD that I had to force myself to finish this "episode"? This is by far one of the most disappointing adventure games I've played in years and was so anti-climactic that it actually felt good to uninstall this title. I really hope this picks up in later chapters because as of now, this is just terrible...

<![CDATA[Reign of Kings - It's like Rust and Chivalry had a baby...]]>Fri, 20 Mar 2015 01:39:28 GMThttp://antrexon.weebly.com/antrexon-gaming/reign-of-kings-its-like-rust-and-chivalry-had-a-babyA creepy, but awesome baby. This whole survival genre is out of control. Every Joe and his gramma seems to be making one and releasing it in Early Access (have we actually seen one that's been complete yet?). But of all other games in the genre, Reign of Kings stands alone in one particular feature - it takes another awesome game - Chivalry - and adds the gore and the brutality of the medieval sword fighting. It also adds the ability to become the king (literally of the hill) and even create huge siege of war machines. This is basically the ultimate medieval survival game we've been waiting for and it's just so much more fun than both Rust and Chivalry at the moment.
It doesn't take itself too seriously and is just way too much fun to play.
Go try it now!
<![CDATA[White Night - a unique survival horror game]]>Fri, 20 Mar 2015 01:32:33 GMThttp://antrexon.weebly.com/antrexon-gaming/white-night-a-unique-survival-horror-gameThere are only a handful games that are audacious enough to take the colours and throw them down the bin. I can probably can only think of one other recent title that decided to go with a black and white colour scheme, but even that game included a later patch that added optional colours. White Night gives you no such option. You play as a detective type person on the search for something or someone inside a haunted house. Not particularly original, but the visual in this game are really unsettling. The ghosts, though not jump-scare scary, are really eerie due to the chroma settings and the variety of special effects that add the uneasiness to everything in the game.

All in all, a solid survival horror game, although not sure how the color choice will influence the game's success with the fans of the genre.
<![CDATA[Black Hole - yet another 2D puzzle platformer?]]>Fri, 20 Mar 2015 01:25:42 GMThttp://antrexon.weebly.com/antrexon-gaming/black-hole-yet-another-2d-puzzle-platformerThe year has only started and we already have a bunch of puzzle platformers to choose from. This time, it's about traveling into a black hole...oh wait, that sounds familiar?

Anyhoo, you play as a survivor that tries to escape the blackhole world where for some reason jumping into certain types of locations flips your screen 90 degrees, changing the gravity. Hmmm.... well I guess it's kind of original, but haven't we seen this before?

All in all, this is a good game, but only recommended for the fans of the genre.
<![CDATA[Grim Dawn Early Access - Diablo is still better]]>Fri, 20 Mar 2015 01:21:37 GMThttp://antrexon.weebly.com/antrexon-gaming/grim-dawn-early-access-diablo-is-still-betterGrim Dawn is out on Early access and is available for early purchase, but to be honest, so far I'm not really impressed. It plays like an Alpha of Diablo 3 with really bad performance and somewhat mediocre set of skills/battles and monsters.

It better have more to show when the actual game hits the shelves because right now this is a bit underwhelming...
